We passed our audit at work today with a score of 100%! Yes! I will greatly enjoy the bonus pay.

Here's a sample of a brief conversation with my boss as I was helping him prepare for the audit:
Boss: "Have I ever told you how much I appreciate what you do around here?"
Me: "No. You keep calling me a useless turd."
Boss: "You are a useless turd. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate you."
He has interesting ways of complimenting people.

So I'm pretty pissed off at KNW right now.
A little bit of background first.
Micah got laid off. Apparently the owners of the Leopold had to lay him off as well as several other employees because they can't afford to keep them on payroll (though they can afford to spend $2.3 million to buy the Herald building...hmmm....). We were feeling pretty good, though, because mere hours after losing his job, Micah got a new job as a Kirby salesman.
I should have known it wouldn't have worked out. Micah's had less than stellar experience with Kirby in the past, down in Salem, OR. But he was supposed to be demo-ing the vacuums this time instead of canvassing neighborhoods, so it would be alright, right?
Wrong. Micah called me a few days ago. His team leader had dumped him in Lynnwood. Lynnwood. That's 80 miles away! When Micah had expressed concerns about not getting any appointments, the team leader kicked him out of his van when they stopped at an intersection.
I got a phone call from a very upset Micah. I had to drive down there, during rush hour, to pick him up. Fortunately he wasn't far of the interstate. But still. Who leaves someone stranded 80 miles from home?
This is a warning. They have several Craigslist ads that don't tell you who they are. So if you respond to an ad with phone number either (360) 715-1169 or (360) 542-6811, then proceed with caution. I don't think these guys ast KNW are up to any good!
In other news...
I'm starting a new weight loss blog soon. The first article will be automatically published on July 1st. Click here to check it out.

I am now Mrs. Kathryn Brown. I got hitched on Saturday. It still hasn't fully hit me yet. I'm sure that when I'm in the middle of changing my name, and see my new name on my driver's license and business cards, it'll suddenly hit me, "Holy Sh*t, I'm married!" For now, though, I am exhausted by the past week's events, and need some sleep. That and the fact that last night's sleep was a drunk sleep and not a real sleep I'm sure isn't helping either.
My bachelorette party was on the 16th. We played Dirty Minds. That is a hilarious game, and if you haven't played it then you need to. Here's one for you. 1) I get covered in rubber before I go in. 2) Sometimes I let others suck my hose. 3) When I'm done, I'm usually wet and dripping. (Answer is at end of blog.)
I took the week of and frantically did last-minute wedding prep. I don't remember how many trips I had to make to Michael's, but I'm sure they're pretty familiar with me by now.
The wedding ceremony and reception were small but beautiful. I had something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and while I didn't have a silver sixpence to put in my shoe, I did acquire a tenpence, and we all know that ten is better than six, so ha!
We honeymooned for a couple nights in Astoria. On the way down, we accidentally ended up on I-405 North after passing through Seattle. We found our way to some other highway, which was going south, and since our destination was south we followed it for a half hour until we found out way back to Tacoma and I-5. We stayed at the Red Lion Hotel, which is where we met and seemed quite an appropriate destination. We did a bunch of touristy stuff, though the Astoria Column was unfortunately closed for repairs. We also spent a bunch of money. I am now officially broke, but I have a lot of souvenirs.
Last night we went drinking, since my work schedule normally doesn't let me drink. I was only going to get a couple drinks, but I ended up completely plastered. (Don't worry...I left the car at the hotel and walked into town.) On the plus side, I turned $10 into $40 on video poker, which was pretty good for my first ever gambling experience (until last night I hadn't bought so much as a Lotto ticket).
Thank yous and formal announcements will get sent out whenever I get around to them. I'll stick some photos up here when I get them all transfered to my computer, and they'll be a web album as well. For now, I'm going to go read the copy of Xombie Reanimated that I picked up at a comic book store in Astoria (the fact that I was so excited to find a copy of that speaks to my geekiness).
